Nothing much

Is it bad that all I am really thinking about lately is our little Gooseberry? I just can't help it! I am so excited about our baby! I have been reading all sorts of baby related things and looking at baby things online. Bedding, car seats, strollers, diapers, and other such things. How is a person to choose from all of the options that are available? How do you know what's good and what is not? Suggestions? I know that we are a few weeks away from starting to pick things out for the baby, but any and all suggestions are welcome :)

happy news

This June the Hubs and I found out we were going to have a baby. We were so excited when we found out about our little baby.

This summer I tried to keep up with pictures and I will be catching you up on them so that you will soon be up to date with where we actually are.

And now, do you think this little gooseberry is going to be a girl or a boy? Make sure you guess. I'll be
revealing the gender as soon as we're caught up... only 12 weeks to catch up on :)

a little knitting sort of ....

I have had an image in my head for quite some time now and it just won't go away. So I thought I would share it with you all :)

Here's the picture: God, sitting in an overstuffed, oversized, incredibly comfy arm chair knitting together with great care the baby that is growing inside my belly.

That's right. I'm having a baby!!! bah! I'm sooooo excited!!! The Hubs and I are pleased as punch that God has blessed us with this little gooseberry! We are so very excited and feel so very blessed. I have been praying for this little baby for longer than I can remember. I'm thrilled to have a baby and to be a mama!

pumpkin patch

The hubs and I were invited to the pumpkin patch this past weekend to celebrate the one year birthday of an adorable little girl (and sadly I didn't even get a picture of this little cutie).

But we had a very nice time. The morning started out chilly and overcast, but it turned out to be quite sunny and bright by the time we were leaving. We really couldn't have asked for better weather. These are just a few pictures from our trip.

this little goat would stand at the top of a tower like thing and wait for people to send food up to him on that fancy little black conveyer belt type thingy. It was pretty nifty and amusing to watch him.

this little goat thought my camera was food. it wasn't, but he was pretty
determined to get and eat my camera. kehehe. it was funny.

he finally gave up and went to get real food from another person.

the adorable little cow ride that I wanted to ride but was to old to ride.

hubs with a pumpkin!

the pumpkin patch (like how I label everything? even then most obvious? :)

me with my little pumpkin! maybe this year we
will actually get around to carving the pumpkins.

we picked our pumpkins! :)

I quite enjoy going to the pumpkin patch. Maybe because it means Fall is hear and the pretty, crisp, fall days aren't far ahead. I'm excited to finally put out all of my Fall decorations! Like I said before, we have been gone a lot lately and just haven't had time. So, yep. It's happening. I'll try and get some pictures up soon :)

Happy Fall y'all!

my classroom

So, I finally remembered to take some pictures of my lovely little classroom. So without further adieu...

this is the view from my desk. I am soooo happy to have
desks this year instead of tables!

this is the front of the room.

when you walk through the door this is what you see.
you can't really tell, but there is a cute little apple curtain hanging in the window.

and this is my little desk/work space.

I like my room a lot more this year. I think it helps that I actually had time this summer to work on it.
The tricky part is what actually happens in the room. I'll get it down one day I hope.

Anyhow. That's my room. Thanks for visiting :)

things I can't seem to do

There has just been so much going on these days and I am finding it difficult to steal even a few minutes away to sit down and write. It's horrible really. I really am working on that. There are quite a few things I have on my list of things to do but they just never seem to get done:

- keep the kitchen and house clean
- hang out with the hubs
- go on daily walks with Puppy
- exercise three or so times a week
- fold the laundry and put it away (right after washing it)
- read/quite time (a little bit every night)
- blog (at least a few times a week)

...and these are all the things that have nothing to do with school. That list is endless. Oh my goodness. I cannot figure out how to balance everything I need to and get all of the papers graded and back to my kids in a timely manner and how to do pretty much everything. It's pretty pathetic really.

But apart from that, things are going. We have been traveling a lot lately too, which always seems to make the house a mess... but I'm not going to grip or complain. I'm just saying this is what has been going on (or not been going on) lately. Hopefully some good changes are on the way :)

I hope you all are doing well and have a peachy weekend!

a happy treat

The weekends are some of the only times during the school year that I feel like I have a life. Mostly what that means is: I sleep in about an hour later than usual, make a yummy breakfast, clean up our house for the first time that week, do laundry, go grocery shopping, and take a nap (if I'm lucky).

One of the highlights of my weekends is going to Target. Maybe that sounds silly, but I just love that store and just walking around the brightly light and squeaky clean aisles makes my heart happy. I don't get to go every weekend but I try and visit at least once a month when school is in session, to feel normal, you know?

Anyhow. Today I got to go to Target. It's been a few weeks since I was last there. They had Halloween candy and costumes and decorations out. Last time I was there it was all back to school stuff. That's how long it's been (although, I do know that retail stores can put out new merchandise in a matter of hours, I've done it before). Anyhow. They had some fun new pretty fall stuff out. Oh, how I love Fall. It's my favorite season. But that's something I'll save for another time. If I remember :)

So today I had a list of things I needed to get while I was there. Usually I don't have a list (or if I do I don't stick to it, kind of like what happened today), but today I did and it guided me through the store. As I was looking for one thing or another on my list I happened to get a glance of one of the most wonderful things in the store. And they had my name written all over it. I am not an impulse purchaser. I am not a decisive person. But when I saw these beauties, I picked them up immediately, put them in my cart, and walked off without a second thought.

I got my feet a happy treat.

See? Don't they have my name written all over them? They do. Don't worry, your eyesight just might be failing you at the moment :)

That's right y'all. Slippers. I don't know if you know about my deep love affair with slippers or not, but I have one. Again, that's something for another time, if I can remember :)

Aren't these little piggies the absolute cutest and most wonderful slippers in the world? I mean, how can you not love slippers after seeing these little guys? I have been enjoying them all afternoon. Puppy is sniffing suspiciously, but I am loving them and forbidding Puppy from making them into his newest toy.

Anyhow. That's all have for today. I just had to share a happy feet treat. Do you have something that makes you especially happy? Slippers anyone?

I hope you have a happy weekend!
