days gone by

Happy Friday :) This week has just flown by, which I suppose is a very nice and welcome thing. It's just crazy thinking about everything that has to get accomplished in the next three weeks before school gets out. yikes.

Anyhow. It's Friday and I quite enjoy linking up with Lauren and filling in the blanks.

1.  Today is [was] a great day because,   I felt prepared for my classes before any of the kids even showed up to school. That just might be a first :)

2.   Tomorrow I will   __hopefully get my folder of papers graded and my lesson plans for this upcoming week written. And get laundry, kitchen cleaning, and grocery shopping done ... and a trip to Target. It's good to be ambitious, right?

3.  My favorite time of day is     the afternoon       because     it means I have survived the morning and will have a few "free" hours to plan, grade, and do other such suchness. I like quite enjoy my afternoons. They tend to be quiet.

4. Sometimes you just have to    __buy yourself a nice little treat :)

5. A song that I just can't get enough of lately is    "The Cave" by Mumford & Sons.

6. My favorite accessory is   __a simple silver necklace with a little charm.

7.  My favorite thing about this week was   fixing a real dinner tonight and eating with the hubs. I feel like I rarely fix dinner any more.

a little new

So, maybe you noticed a little something new around these here parts. I did a little changing. It's true. I like to change things up every once in a while. It keeps me happy. What do you think about the new look? I think I'm pretty satisfied with it over all. The only thing that makes me sad is that the font for the posts, title, and sidebar stuff all has the be the same font. So while I want the center (post) font to be nice and clear, I like to have the title be a little more fun and not so plain and boring, and also I like for the little sidebar stuff to be in a different and fun little font. Sadly, I cannot seem to figure out how to change the fonts for these. I updated the fonts and such a little while back and I was able to have different fonts for the posts, title, and sidebar stuff. Why can't I do that any more? It makes me sad.

I suppose things could be worse.

But I just want them to be perfect.

Or how I want them to be.

And they are not.

If you have a secret or know what I'm talking about and/or how to fix it or just know that it's not an option any more, you should share with me. mmk? :)

k. thanks.

Anyhow. That's about all I've got for now. I'll spare you another picture of Lolly (yes, Foxy now has a real name :) and her kits. For now.

Have a happy Sunday y'all!

nothing much

This week has been so successful and wonderful I have decided that being at home is what I want to do full time. Stay home, tidy up, clean up, stalk Foxy, go on strolls with Puppy, read, write, and take care of things. I am devising a few plans so I can make this a reality. I'll let you know what they are ... if I can make any of them a reality that is :)

But in the mean time, I hope you have a grand Saturday. And I will leave you with a few more pictures of Foxy and her kits!

I like this one cause you can see one of the kits pretty well.

how many kits do you see? I see three! :)

friday is nice

Happy Friday :) I generally love Fridays, and I do love this one. But sadly, it marks one of my last days of "freedom." So, I'm not too happy about that. But it is still a good day.... so I'm going to link up with Lauren  and share some more good things :)

photo-21.JPG.jpg

1.  Today is a good day because   I got to see Foxy and her kits again. And also, because it's a Friday and I'm still on Spring Break!

2.   The best thing I did all week was   lounge around the house and read "The Hunger Games" trilogy ... in three days. Yes. Yes.

3.  The current weather is     sunny with a few clouds      and it makes me feel     calm, content, and happy to be home.

4. The best thing about spring is    planting a garden, watching trees and flowers blossoming, the cool weather, and that is marks the nearness of the end of the school year.

5. A fashion trend that I'm dying to try out for spring is   sticking with the tried and true, flip flops and t-shirts :) I'm not a particularly fashionable person so I'm just happy to wear springy clothes.

6. A person who made me smile this week was    _my niece Jaclyn. I got to see her for a few minutes on Easter Sunday. She has such a sweet little personality it's had not to smile when you are around her.

7.  The most delicious thing I ate all week was   sadly nothing worth noting yet, although I did have a pretty tasty bowl of raspberry Greek yogurt with sliced strawberries and granola. I know how to live it up, right? some green grapes. I've been craving sweet fresh things and the grapes have been quite tasty.

number 4

4. Ok. Here it is. Number 4. The long and anticipated #4.
... the most exciting part of this weekend (which encompasses Saturday to today) is this:
we have a new neighbor.

Mr. Fox

our new neighbor

has been out and about a lot since moving in behind us.

But, wait. What is this (or that)?! A Mr. Fox or ...

a Mama Fox?

It is! It is a Mama Fox!
At first, I speculated about there being kits back there, but I didn't see any, so I figured there probably weren't any.
But then, after stalking Foxy for an hour and taking about 10,000,000 pictures I noticed a little something when I uploaded the pictures...

see the little babies?!
I did! and, omg. I got sooo excited!!! I am sooo excited!!
A Foxy and her babies! In my back yard!
Well, technically they live in our abandoned neighbors' yard. The grass is really long and there is a lot of brush and trees back there. Plus, apparently she has a pretty cozy basement (according to all of the groundhogs and the lots of other critters that have made their home there in the past).
Foxy, is hands down, the best neighbor of them all though.

Look at the little kits!

Can you tell I'm a little excited?

and also a little stalkerish? I'm gonna see if I can get a little closer and get some better pictures...

Isn't this sooo exciting?! bah! I love it!!! :D
Best Spring Break Ever!!

four good things

This has just been the best week ever! Well, not week, but  the last three and a half days have been the best days ever. It is true. A few days last weekend were pretty wonderful too. I will go into more detail for you.

1. I am on Spring Break! It is glorious! I love being on break! So far my break has been very chill and productive... with house stuff. Not school stuff. I have an extremely difficult time working on school stuff when I'm on a break from school. Even though I know it would be best for me to work on some school things while on break because I have a lot more time right now than when school is in. When we're in school I have to plan, teach, manage, call, meet, grade, do intern stuff.... blah, blah, blah. Not so fun. Why is it so difficult to work on some of this stuff over break? I know I ought to... but I really don't want to. I just want to keep chilling and being productive around the house.

2. Speaking of the house, the Hubs and I have both been quite productive. On Saturday he worked in the yard and garden all day (it looks really lovely, I can't wait to eat some of the pickings!). I was inside moving our bedroom downstairs. This is something I have thought about doing ever since we moved into the house. But I liked the blue paint in the upstairs room, so that's where we lived. Until now. Now, we live downstairs. It's quite nice. You may ask why we I moved our room downstairs. It is because in the summer, it gets pretty hot here. We are in the South after all. Even with the air on, some nights are just plain awful. And since we're cheap, we don't want to have the air on too high. That's the main reason (or at least that's what convinced the hubs :). The real other reason is because of the bigger closet. It's true. The room downstairs just has more closet space. That is the only sad thing about our house, the lack of closet space. I am quite pleased with our move. It actually feels like we are on holiday, living in a different room.

3. I read all day long yesterday. I love reading. Thus, I loved yesterday. I finally started really reading "The Hunger Games." I knew I couldn't start before I actually had time to read because when I start reading a book, that is all I do. Literally. I sit on the couch, bed, floor, any where I can, and read until the book is finished. It doesn't mater what book. I just have to finish it. Does any one else do that? Anyhow, I loved the book. I felt sad when it ended. So today I went and got the next two. ...If I start reading those next two books, I'm pretty sure school stuff will not get done... huh.

4. ... well, that's the best one. But I've decided to save it for another post. Can't share all of my exciting news in one post now can I? :D But it's really awesome! You will be jumping up and down in excitement! I know I am!!! Yay!!! Ooooo.... just wait for number 4!!
