Baby Bump 21 weeks

still catching up. almost there :)

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 21 weeks
Baby is the size of a pomegranate

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +10-12 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Some. I still fit in my shirts and pants (with a belly band) but everything else is getting super snug and a little uncomfortable. I'm excited to go shopping this week for some proper fitting clothes.

Best Moment this Week: Going to the doctor! I have been waiting 21 weeks for this! It was so wonderful hearing Gooseberry's heartbeat and seeing him/her for the first time! so so so exciting!

Gender: The doctor told us what he thought Gooseberry is, but I'm waiting to say until after we visit the ultrasound tech :)

Movement: I think so! Even the doctor said he could feel the baby kick. We got to see all the kicking too. So neat!

Food Cravings: Fresh fruit. strawberries, bananas, apples, clementines (gosh, I love those little things!)

Food aversions: None really. I like eating.

What I Miss: Nothing at all right now.

Sleep: Starting to toss a little bit, but still getting plenty.

What I am looking forward to: Going to the doctor (ultrasound tech) for Gooseberry's anatomy check up!

baby bump 20 weeks

I have been meaning to do this since the start, but in case you can't tell I've been a little bit of a slacker lately. I'm already sad about it, so I've decided to try and fix it. From here to until Gooseberry comes my plan is to keep these up :)

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along: 20 weeks

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +9 pounds

Maternity Clothes: Some. Most of my shirts still fit, they are just really tight! My jeans still fit, but my work clothes, not so much! I had to cave and use the belly band this week. And I am on the look out for cute maternity work clothes now.

Best Moment this Week: Really "popping" out. At least, I feel like I've grown so much in one week!

Gender: I don't know yet! We get to find out in about a week! I can't wait! Most of the time I think it's a little boy, but sometimes I think it's a girl. I can't wait for my doctor's appointment to get here!
Movement: I think so. I have felt some little unusual flutters and bubble in my tummy. My friends tell me it's the baby. I hope it's the baby and not just an upset tummy :)

Food Cravings: Fresh fruit. I feel like I can't get enough of it. Especially strawberries! I love them lately.

Food aversions: I think this existed before I was pregnant, but I really can't stand chicken, or the smell of deli meat.

What I Miss: Sleeping comfortably through the night. I'm starting to toss and turn a lot more than I used to. Oh, and not having to go to the bathroom every five minutes!

Sleep: I could sleep all the time :) I go to bed as early as I can.

What I am looking forward to: Going to the doctor! This will be our first visit and I cannot wait! I am excited to hear the heart beat and hopefully see this little gooseberry!

baby bump catch up

This has been a long time coming. I had to wait to share the news and now I'm all behind, so I'm playing catch up :)

weeks 11, 12, and 13 didn't get pictures.
That or I can't find them.
I probably just forgot to take the pictures is more likely.
woops. Sorry Gooseberry.

Again, I just didn't get that picture in time.
Sorry Baby.

I feel like I really popped between weeks 17 and 18

ah! big belly!

And the rest of this week I will finish bringing you up to date.
Only a few more weeks (of the bump pictures) and we are all caught up.
my goal is to be caught up by the end of the week
...it's about time to be on track with where baby is.

Also, I just have to say, I am so stinkin' excited about this little
baby growing in my belly right now.

I hope you all had a delightful Monday.

Comfort and Loss

My sister received some heartbreaking news this week and since she told me my heart has been broken for her. I don't know that it is my place to go into detail or share the news right now, maybe in the future I will, but for now I will leave it at that. I hurt so much for her.

After she told me and the tears stopped for a little while, I was praying and seeking the Lord, these few verses stuck out to me... I don't know that they will comfort her or help in any way, but they stuck out to me so here they are...

"...then I will come and do for you all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again. For I know the plans I have for you," says The Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you," says The Lord. "I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes."

- Jeremiah 29:10-14

"May God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord give you grace, mercy, and peace. ... All honor and glory to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen."

- 1 Timothy 1:2, 17

"Bend down, O Lord, and hear my prayer; answer me, for I need your help. Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me, for I serve you and trust you. You are my God. Be merciful to me, O Lord, for I am calling on you constantly. Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you.
... Listen closely to my prayer, O Lord; hear my urgent cry. I will call to you whenever I'm in trouble, and you will answer me.
... You alone are God.
... Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant. Send me a sign of your favor.
...you, O Lord, help and comfort me.

- Psalm 86:1-4, 6-7, 10b, 15-17

I don't understand why my sister has to go through this time of pain and sorrow. I wish so badly that I could take it away, to make everything better and right. I wish this had never happened to her (or anyone). But there is nothing I can do to fix it. Nothing. I just want her to have her joy again, and it's been taken from her.

I don't know how she's feeling, I can only imagine the pain she is feeling right now. I love her so much and pray for her continually. O, God, be her comfort.

If you think of it at all over the next few days, or if you could just take some time right now, could you please say a prayer (or many) for my sister, her husband, and her two children?

Nothing much

Is it bad that all I am really thinking about lately is our little Gooseberry? I just can't help it! I am so excited about our baby! I have been reading all sorts of baby related things and looking at baby things online. Bedding, car seats, strollers, diapers, and other such things. How is a person to choose from all of the options that are available? How do you know what's good and what is not? Suggestions? I know that we are a few weeks away from starting to pick things out for the baby, but any and all suggestions are welcome :)

happy news

This June the Hubs and I found out we were going to have a baby. We were so excited when we found out about our little baby.

This summer I tried to keep up with pictures and I will be catching you up on them so that you will soon be up to date with where we actually are.

And now, do you think this little gooseberry is going to be a girl or a boy? Make sure you guess. I'll be
revealing the gender as soon as we're caught up... only 12 weeks to catch up on :)

a little knitting sort of ....

I have had an image in my head for quite some time now and it just won't go away. So I thought I would share it with you all :)

Here's the picture: God, sitting in an overstuffed, oversized, incredibly comfy arm chair knitting together with great care the baby that is growing inside my belly.

That's right. I'm having a baby!!! bah! I'm sooooo excited!!! The Hubs and I are pleased as punch that God has blessed us with this little gooseberry! We are so very excited and feel so very blessed. I have been praying for this little baby for longer than I can remember. I'm thrilled to have a baby and to be a mama!

pumpkin patch

The hubs and I were invited to the pumpkin patch this past weekend to celebrate the one year birthday of an adorable little girl (and sadly I didn't even get a picture of this little cutie).

But we had a very nice time. The morning started out chilly and overcast, but it turned out to be quite sunny and bright by the time we were leaving. We really couldn't have asked for better weather. These are just a few pictures from our trip.

this little goat would stand at the top of a tower like thing and wait for people to send food up to him on that fancy little black conveyer belt type thingy. It was pretty nifty and amusing to watch him.

this little goat thought my camera was food. it wasn't, but he was pretty
determined to get and eat my camera. kehehe. it was funny.

he finally gave up and went to get real food from another person.

the adorable little cow ride that I wanted to ride but was to old to ride.

hubs with a pumpkin!

the pumpkin patch (like how I label everything? even then most obvious? :)

me with my little pumpkin! maybe this year we
will actually get around to carving the pumpkins.

we picked our pumpkins! :)

I quite enjoy going to the pumpkin patch. Maybe because it means Fall is hear and the pretty, crisp, fall days aren't far ahead. I'm excited to finally put out all of my Fall decorations! Like I said before, we have been gone a lot lately and just haven't had time. So, yep. It's happening. I'll try and get some pictures up soon :)

Happy Fall y'all!

my classroom

So, I finally remembered to take some pictures of my lovely little classroom. So without further adieu...

this is the view from my desk. I am soooo happy to have
desks this year instead of tables!

this is the front of the room.

when you walk through the door this is what you see.
you can't really tell, but there is a cute little apple curtain hanging in the window.

and this is my little desk/work space.

I like my room a lot more this year. I think it helps that I actually had time this summer to work on it.
The tricky part is what actually happens in the room. I'll get it down one day I hope.

Anyhow. That's my room. Thanks for visiting :)
